The task
In the PEP-PDM change programme (product development process / product data management), functional processes for configuration, change and target management were redesigned across the product lines: connect product data consistently, create a coherent product structure across all functional processes and integrate existing systems - based on standard software (SAP MySAP PLM, SAP IPPE).
eplit's contribution
Since 2001 in service level 1 directly for the BMW Group, and from 2004 in service level 2 in cooperation with CSC Ploenzke AG: functional process clarification and consulting, design, implementation, external project management and the maintenance of the solutions in operation. One focus was the work package "updating costs in series development" with an independently delivered functional and IT concept for cost assessment.
The technical core
A high-level concept for extracting quantity structures - configured vehicle structures - from SAP for cost and weight assessment in legacy systems, and returning the assessed scope to SAP. Together with technical feasibility analyses and the integration of legacy systems via an EAI platform (SeeBeyond) into SAP.
What makes this experience
Considering functional processes and technical interfaces together, making dependencies visible and systematically preparing the integration of existing systems - exactly this attitude shapes our work on reverse engineering and modernisation today.

From individual surveys
to an integrated platform.
The task
Make results from individual survey projects reusable and connect them with existing applications and additional key figures.
The approach
The modular "Enterprise Survey Platform" based on the query@Portal software family: flexible data models, cross-survey analysis views (functional, organisational, procedural), role-based reports and integration into existing workflows. Functional online monitors cover human resources, customers, suppliers and project controlling.
The technical perspective
Bringing together data integration, automation and functional analysis logic. This connection is also relevant for custom enterprise software.
